Indications

For acute and chronic pain syndromes of the musculoskeletal system:

  • Limitations of movement

  • Neck pain, tension in the shoulder area, back pain

  • Lumbago with sciatica involvement and/or paresthesias

  • After accidents or injury-related pain of the musculoskeletal system

  • Pain in the joints (arthralgia) or the muscles (myalgia)

 

For various other conditions:

  • Different types of headaches and migraines

  • Numbness, "tingling"

  • Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)

  • Vertigo (dizziness)

  • Sleep disorders (difficulty falling and staying asleep)

  • In cases of nervous restlessness, autonomic dystonia, exhaustion syndrome, forms of stress, depressive moods

 

Manual medicine is considered a conservative orthopedic method whose diagnostic capabilities are indispensable for painful disorders of the musculoskeletal system.

 

Manual therapy techniques play an exceptional role in the treatment of relevant illnesses due to their economy and their efficiency, which can often be observed very quickly.

The Austrian Medical Society for Manual Medicine (ÖÄGMM) strives to teach in its courses the knowledge content that is not sufficiently conveyed in studies and training at hospitals and clinics, so that this knowledge can be successfully applied to patients.
