Pain & functional limitations
The fascial network spreads throught out our entire body. There are no "fascia-free areas," which means that all complaints in the body, whether acutely injured or chronically overloaded, are considered potential indications for treatment.
Here is an (incomplete) list of indications.
In case of acute injuries
-
After accidents or pain caused by overuse of the musculoskeletal system
-
Joint sprains (ankle, knee, wrist)
-
"Dislocations" of spinal joints (in cases of acute lumbago)
-
Sports injuries, e.g., ligament strains, contusions, muscle fiber tears, Achilles tendon issues
-
Acute neck pain, tension in the shoulder area, back pain
-
Lumbalgia ("lumbago") with possible sciatica involvement and/or paresthesia
In case of chronic conditions
-
Chronic neck, back, or sacral pain
-
Pain in the arms and legs (e.g., shoulder, hip, and knee pain)
-
Movement restrictions and stiffness
-
Joint pain (arthralgia) or muscle pain (myalgia)
-
Performance loss without pain
In case of various other conditions:
-
Different forms of headaches and migraines
-
Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
-
Vertigo (dizziness)
-
Sleep disorders (difficulty falling and staying asleep)
-
Nervous restlessness, vegetative dystonia, exhaustion syndrome, forms of stress, depressive moods
In case of neurological/pseudo-neurological* symptoms:
-
*i.e., without an objective finding
-
Feelings of numbness or tingling, sensations of heat or cold
-
True carpal tunnel syndrome (TCTS) and pseudo carpal tunnel syndromes (CTLS)
-
Feelings of weakness or instability
-
Disc protrusions, disc herniations (disc prolapse) with nerve root compressions (neuroforaminal stenosis), associated with radiating sensory disturbances and pain in the arm or leg
-
Narrowing of the spinal canal (vertebrostenosis)
-
Degenerative changes in the discs and adjacent structures (osteochondrosis, spondylarthrosis), etc.
And many other symptoms.
